Research on Legal Methodology

The main focus of my research is on Legal Methodology.

In the HYPATIA project we study how instructional materials for learning legal tasks should be designed (e-learning). This requires insight in how to read, structure and comprehend statutes; how to read, structure and analyse case law and how to solve legal cases.

In the WOLLSTONECRAFT project we study how to use (large) legal databases in legal research on Fundamental Rights.

In the Methodology of Societal Complexity project we study how we can apply this methodology in legal research and how legal research may contribute to the further development of this methodology.

In the Digital Paul Scholten Project the work of Paul Scholten (General Method of Private Law) is made downloadable for free in different languages in an online research model which introduces open peer review.
